When I log out of a Windows user account on the remote PC, Splashtop automatically closes. This is quite frustrating when all I am. Is it possible to lock the machine upon disconnect of session OR must you lock/log off and then disconnect the session? At first I couldn't find out how to log someone out if they had forgotten to log off when they were done. After some searching and clicking around, I found the. My issue is I've searched and most logoff scripts are referred to RDP, Terminal sessions, paired with logon scripts, and many other references to things I don need to do. Also many are for older OS'es. I also do not want to inhibit the end user from gaining access via Splashtop, LogMeIn or any other remote access after the forced logoff from home, after hours, as needed.

I'm of the belief that I clearly identified my failure to find a slam dunk answer, hence utilizing the visitors of this forum. Looks like it'll do it, do you use it, know of users who do? For some of our servers we just have a task scheduled in Task Scheduler which restarts the servers we need at X time, works really well at clearing off people who disconnect and not sign out of their sessions.

I'm not wanting to reboot the Server, but rather logoff 8 max, usually 3 or 4 Workstations with connections to the Server, open files in a SQL Database via an open application on those Workstations [random]. As also stated, they also leave open Outlook, Word, etc. Then, the PC is logged off of the network, all open applications are closed and PC is signed off. Is that a procedure not able to be achieved or in the "Real World", how is it that IT support staff perform their functions and duties without having end users complain that they left files open and did not save them, or they lost all their work, etc.

Regardless of the end users inability to follow directions or if they just plain forgot, or rebelliously do so, the key point is I need to get them logged off, not the Server to reboot. No way for me to reply to the following question I got other than here no person identifiable to reply to in a private message, and "The Spiceworks Team" is not a choice. The answer to the question is no, I have not received what I believe to be an appropriate solution, given the fact that I specifically had asked for a response based upon the specific I outlined.

I have disabled the screen saver and have set "never" to every God damn thing that had anything to do with allowing the computer to sleep or log off in 5 minutes, but nothing worked. Ever been to the mall and saw that the Apple store is packed while the Microsoft Store is a complete opposite?
